It has been confirmed that Farrah Fawcett, long time television icon who helped to redefined sex appeal in the mid seventies with her role in Charlies Angels, has died this morning at about 9 :30 AM.

Fawcett, whose luxurious tresses brought her major fame , was 62.

The pop icon,  died in a Santa Monica hospital, spokesman Paul Bloch said.

She had been diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006.and was given the all clear a year later, only to have the disease return.
